In Understanding Power: The Indispensable Chomsky, Noam Chomsky explains political motives and modern history in a straightforward manner, showing the truth behind the decisions of governments. These are the facts and details never heard on public news stations and newspapers. I would definitely suggest reading this collection of talks by Chomsky.

In America there exists a large population of people who lack an adequate education on drugs. The evidence for this conclusion lies in the government’s miss-classification of various drugs, people’s acceptance of prescription drugs, and the fact that the public education system actually spreads drug ignorance. For an introduction to the whole issue I would recommend reading Dr. Andrew Weil’s book, The Natural Mind: An Investigation of Drugs and the Higher Consciousness.
I first learned about MMT or Modern Monetary Theory after reading an article by Cullen Roche. The article contains a link to a detailed description of MMT. The ideas presented in these articles provide a different perspective on capitalism and the economics of federal governments.
